Numeracy & Math in Art and Design
Led & adjudicated by Ms. Chan, Ms. Le Blanc and Mr. Randall
FINAL SUBMISSION DEADLINE: MAY 4th, 2023
What is it?
-
An art competition to design and create a piece of 2D artwork using the principles of numeracy and math, in any medium or media of your choice.​
-
Possible themes to consider:
Claiming space, Equity, Gender and sexuality, Multi-culturalism, indigeneity, anti-racism, climate change action, mental health.

What can you get?

MONEY! Prizes available: 5 bursaries of $300 available.

LEGACY! Finalists' work will be printed, mounted and displayed throughout NWSS
​
​When's it due?
-
Submit a sketchbook/draft of your planning leading up to the final project submission by MARCH 1st, 2023. It is strongly advised that you check in with Ms. Chan, Ms. Le Blanc or Mr. Randall for guidance and feedback ahead of submission deadline.

Completion of final piece for submission is May 4th, 2023

PROJECTED TIMELINE:

Introduction of bursary project -

- Half-way point check of intended designs with Ms. Chan/ Ms. Le Blanc/ Mr. Randall
- Alternatively, check in with different mentor in (Math teacher/friend/family/etc.) ​ -
May 4th:
Final piece and planning submission (May 4th)​ -
May 5 - 10th:
Adjudication ​ -
May 15th:
Results and announcement of bursary winners​ -
June 2023:
Final pieces enlarged and installed on notice boards ​ -
June (Date TBA):
Celebration for all involved. (Whole school welcome to attend!)
